The Beefy Smash Doods (BSD) are YouTube content creators and competitive smashers from Vienna, Austria. Originally founded as a crew in 2014, they gained notoriety within the community for making in-depth tutorials, guides, and other useful videos pertaining to high level Smash 4 and later on, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gameplay. The BSD team has been accredited to discovering techs and mechanics unique to Smash 4 such as the ability to walljump when being ledge trumped [1], and even single-handedly advancing the metagame. They run a series named Smash Review, in which they react to and sometimes attempt to replicate clips that have been submitted by viewers. While their content has focused mainly on Smash Bros. gameplay, they have posted a variety of videos as well and covered games such as Melee, Rivals of Aether, Overwatch and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. In 2017, BSD have also created an app called ReSalt, an offline ladder ranking system.

The Beefy Smash Doods previously had a professional esports team for both Smash and Overwatch. They started their professional endeavours by signing the Swedish high-level player and content creator Izaw, on August 26th, 2016[1]. BSD signed a year later American smashers Elegant and Aarvark[2], before signing quiK two months later[3]. However, BSD disbanded his roster on April 13th, 2018, so the team could focus more on content creation[4]. They also stopped to act as a crew as well.

TAIMU, a translator who translates English into Japanese (or Japanese into English) has joined on June 8th, 2022. He is involved in editting subtitles of BSD YouTube contents to make more views. He contributes to the Smash Term Dictionary EN-JP and helps Japanese Smash players make videos aimed for foreign ones. A playlist of translated contents is also available.
