Slippy's Invention (スリッピーの新兵器, Slippy's New Weapon) is the 23rd event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
The player is faced against Fox and Falco on the Venom stage, but Fox and Falco are both permanently invisible. This transformation is the clear transformation also used in Invisible Melee, rather than the Cloaking Device, so Fox and Falco can still be damaged. The stock icons for Fox and Falco appear darkened to indicate their invisibility.
At the beginning of the match, Slippy says, "How's the cloaking device I invented?" The communication with Slippy begins shortly after the announcer says "Go!"
Trivia
- This is one of the events in Melee that can be played before unlocking a character it contains that doesn't unlock the unlockable character/unlockable stage on completion. This trait is shared with nine other Melee events (Event 22: Super Mario 128, Event 25: Gargantuans, Event 27: Cold Armor, Event 36: Space Travelers, Event 38: Super Mario Bros. 2, Event 42: Trouble King 2, Event 43: Birds of Prey, Event 45: Game & Watch Forever!, and Event 48: Pikachu and Pichu) with those regarding to the unlockable stages Mushroom Kingdom II, Fourside, Brinstar Depths, Poke Floats, Big Blue, Flat Zone, and Dream Land respectively (aside from Special Stages) and the Brawl solo event in another game (Brawl) Event 19: Wario Bros..
