Should the Grinch Leak be included on this page?

The Grinch leak was probably one of the most convincing fake leaks for Smash Ultimate, and I think it deserves a spot on the page. Not really much else I want to put, just that question. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blue Guy (talkcontribs) 16:26, February 11, 2019

As the so called "Grinch Leak" was proven false (with only one of the supposed characters being in the actual game), it stays on the List of Rumors page. The leaks page is specifically for leaks proven true/correct.CardboardLuigi (talk) 20:19, 11 February 2019 (EST)
AAAAAAAND for leaks that are made by people we like. But not leaks made by the evil Kraut Man. Kraut Man Bad. Even if he leaked everything up til the release of the game accurately and Loz18 confessed to being a troll who guessed at everything it does not matter. See them run like pigs from a gun. I need scissors 61. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.56.148.18 (talkcontribs) 16:54, February 21, 2019‎
Aren't you complaining about how a person you like isn't on the leaks page? CardboardLuigi (talk) 11:29, 22 February 2019 (EST)

amiibo leaks

Considering the "leaked" amiibo page came from the official guide, I think we should definitely remove it or move it the rumors page as it was simply a misinterpreted reveal. Pokebub (talk) 02:19, 14 February 2019 (EST) Surprised this hasn’t been added yet. RobbyB3ll4s (talk) 20:32, February 10, 2020 (EST)

Rename

Support moving to "list of notable leaks", and perhaps splitting per-game as well. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Honcho 11:01, July 6, 2019 (EDT)

Honestly? I don't really care what they are moved to so long as they are made consistent. That's just me though. - EndGenuity (talk) 11:48, July 6, 2019 (EDT)
I don't feel "notable" is necessary. "List of leaks" is enough. Bwburke94 (talk) 16:48, July 7, 2019 (EDT)
”List of leaks” implies that we documented all of them. The thing is, there might be some that went right under or nose. Regardless, [[List of Rumors” should have “notable” added to its title so that we make it clear that we aren’t documenting EVERY single rumor. Lou Cena (talk) 16:18, July 8, 2019 (EDT)
If there are "some that went right under our nose", then they should be documented here as soon as possible. Sure, this page might not have every leak in Smash history, but that is certainly the goal of the page. - EndGenuity (talk) 22:24, July 8, 2019 (EDT)
Support. Better this be List of leaks than just "Leaks" and "Rumors". --Meester Tweester (talk) 23:21, July 19, 2019 (EDT)

So, um... have we reached a consensus here? Asking so I can move this and/or List of rumors. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer Leave a message if needed 14:01, July 29, 2019 (EDT)

I see there's already a discussion here despite the fact that I added the tag. Despite this, one of the pages should be renamed for consistency, and "Rumor" sounds terrible. 72.203.118.154 17:13, January 9, 2020 (EST)
Support If any of the two pages should be renamed it's this one, as "Rumor" sounds stupid. SupαToαd64 001Toad.jpg 20:25, January 12, 2020 (EST)

Does it have to be "list of notable leaks"? I mean... I don't know how or why leaks have to be "notable": they're either confirmed to be real or not. It works for rumors since that's actually a metric used to determine what goes on the page. Unless I'm mistaken, a leak's veracity can not and should not be determined by how much traction it gets, but if it verifiably leaks information before its intended publishing date or not. Perhaps "List of notable rumors" and "List of confirmed leaks" would work in this case? - EndGenuity (talk) 21:06, February 10, 2020 (EST)

Adding "notable" to the title lets readers know if said leak was reliable. For example, the I remember somebody on Reddit saying that King K. Rool would get in, without any other info. Even though he did get in, there is no way to prove if he was right because he had no other info. 72.203.118.154 10:46, February 21, 2020 (EST)
But that's the thing: if you can't prove that it's a real leak, then it by definition is not a "confirmed" leak. Plenty of fans said K. Rool would be in the game, but obviously that's not leaking and it's completely impractical to prove that it was. And besides, isn't another component of notability how much discussion it gets? Because certainly several pieces here, particularly in the Ultimate section, didn't garner significant discussion (though that might just be more of a sign that we need to trim the fat...). And even then, the stuff here is supposed to warrant discussion because they've been confirmed. - EndGenuity (talk) 13:14, February 21, 2020 (EST)

...You're absolutely correct. "List of confirmed leaks" is a better name noe that I think about it. Though it should be noted that there are a couple of reliably true leaks that didn't garner discussion, such as the E3 leak that leaked Echo Fighters and the Piranha Plant leak. While those did have a little wrong info, (Squid Sisters being Inklings' FS and Plant being in a car), those seem to be more human error than wrong info. 72.203.118.154 05:04, February 22, 2020 (EST)

Bumping this: the tag has been up for a long time so let's decide on one name: either list of rumors gets moved, or this is going to be:

  • "List of leaks",
  • "List of notable leaks",
  • "List of confirmed leaks"

Me personally, the last one makes it clear that this page is for confirmed leaks. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd the Toαd Wαrrior (BUP) 20:55, April 6, 2020 (EDT)

Support "List of confirmed leaks". - Mega Mario Man (talk) 16:00, April 7, 2020 (EDT)

Date Leaks

Are they really that notable? We know the content is coming, so is it really notable if a leak tells us when something we already know about is coming? 72.203.118.154 03:18, January 9, 2020 (EST)
