- A new version of Super Smash Bros. 4 is coming out for the Nintendo Switch its called Super Smash Bros. Switch its like the Wii U version but with Smash Run and Ridley its coming out in 3rd of October 3020.

- Nintendo accidentally released 8.0.0 early, and dataminers found Spring Man as fully playable, even showing gameplay of him. Plus Angry Video Game Nerd was added as a free surprise fighter for those who pre-purchased the Fighter Pass volume 2. AVGN will later be added as paid DLC for those who didn't pre-purchase the Fighter Pass.

- Frisk from Undertale has been announced to be the second character in the Fighter Pass vol. 2. Frisk will be releasing sometime after the unnamed ARMS character in July. Oh wait, no more ARMS character. SpongeBob is the next character.

- At Super Smash Bros. Online Quarantine Invitational 2020, Hungrybox, Zfly, and Samsora take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles; ZeRo, Zero (Tennessee), and Zero (Texas) take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U singles.

- Since Masahiro Sakurai has nothing to inside his house, he decided to reveal the whole Fighters Pass Volume 2 DLC Fighters, which have been revealed to be an ARMS character, Movie Sonic, Old Movie Sonic, Captain Douglas Jay Falcon, Thanos, and Hotel Mario. He later revealed a third Fighters Pass, which includes every caracter here not already in Ultimate.

- At CEO Dreamland 2020, Samsora, Kola, and ZD take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles; MVD, D2da, and Evilgoku take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U singles; Player-1, Mikeray4, and Gunnermaniac take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Brawl singles; Hungrybox, Colbol, and n0ne take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles; epad10 takes 1st place in Smash 64 singles. Marss & Kuro take Ultimate doubles; Hungrybox & mayb take Melee doubles.
