Split

The stage has the same name across the two versions of the game, but unlike other such stages, the layout is irrevocably different. Does that mean we should split the page? Toomai Glittershine ??? The Wacko 19:29, 23 October 2014 (EDT)

Depends on how different they are from each other. If they have tons of differences, split; if they don't, keep it as is. But, as of now, I'm leaning towards a split. Rtzxy SmashSig.jpeg Smashing! 19:31, 23 October 2014 (EDT)
Neutral, leaning towards support The page is only 2k bytes, but I agree with your reason. Awesomelink234 is really feeling it! 19:32, 23 October 2014 (EDT)
Oppose. I don't think two separate pages is necessary. Perhaps just a section in article describing the differences between the two versions. Unknown the Hedgehog 19:36, 23 October 2014 (EDT)
Strong oppose. It's just the 3DS version with extra platforms on the bottom and a stage boss. Miles (talk) 19:41, 23 October 2014 (EDT)
Support. Yeah, the stages aren't too dissimilar, but it feels awkward for slightly different stages to get a lesser treatment than identical, albeit more 'important' stages (Battlefield and FD. Yes, I know they're unified for 4, but...). Oh, and also, very quick, regarding that music that was just added to the list ("Engage The Enemy") - some sources list it as "Confrontation With The Enemy", so that might need looking into... Strong oppose Even if they're different in layout, they're rather similar and are based on the same location in XC, so a simple comparison between the two will work better. Berrenta (talk) 10:01, 4 November 2014 (EST)
Neutral. While I don't have any problem with splitting the page, I'm not sure if it is really needed. Tepig (talk) 18:21, 4 November 2014 (EST)
Neutral Gaur Plain is the only stage shared between versions that has a change not only in layout (plus stage boss), but also in size. Having compared both, I can confirm there is a vast difference in size of each stage relative to the fighters and blast lines. I suppose separating the article into sections, a la dual-form stages like Mushroomy Kingdom, would work. As long as it's made clear how drastically different the two are. There are only two real differences between this stage on 3DS and Wii U: the addition of a stage boss and a few platforms at the bottom (note how the 3DS version's platforms are added to, not replaced). In what way does that warrant splitting the page? The vast majority of the elements (most of the layout, setting and aesthetic, name, music) overlap exactly. Miles (talk) 13:11, 22 November 2014 (EST)

The stage is also far larger though. I think it's similar to the difference between Smashville and Town and City, with the exception being that the two Gaur Plains share name and music. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Multifaceted 13:16, 22 November 2014 (EST)
Those two differ not only in name and music, as you identified, but the platforms that appear also move differently. Gaur Plain's retained platforms are identical. On top of that, Wily Castle differs slightly between 3DS and Wii U (Bright Man platforms vs. Guts Man platforms); does that warrant a split too? Or Boxing Ring because of the added screen design in the background? I really don't feel like these tweaks between the versions warrant separate pages. Miles (talk) 13:20, 22 November 2014 (EST)

Why are you guys claiming Metal Face only appears in Smash Wii U? He is very much in Ultimate. BirdoFan87 (talk) 08:46, 8 December 2018 (EST)
