Peach's Peril (ピーチまたさらわれる, Peach gets kidnapped again) is the 19th event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
In Peach's Peril, the player controls Mario and has exactly one minute to prevent Peach from getting KO'd by a larger than normal Bowser. Peach will walk back and forth on Final Destination, and does not attack at all, aside from using Peach Parasol to recover if knocked off the stage. Bowser will direct most of his attacks towards Peach.
The player is able to KO Bowser, but he has infinite stocks and will respawn indefinitely. To successfully complete the event, both the player and Peach must survive the whole minute. If the player (Mario) or Peach are KO'd at any time, the match ends in failure. The high score for the event is based on the number of times the player is able to KO Bowser.
This event match is an homage to most of the games in the Mario main series, wherein Bowser frequently kidnaps Peach and Mario has to rescue her by defeating Bowser. In keeping with this, a song from the Mario universe, Princess Peach's Castle, is played during the match despite the event taking place on a Super Smash Bros. universe stage. This is also similar to Event 1: Trouble King. This is because of three reasons; The player is Mario as the assigned character, both events take place of Mario fighting Bowser (with the addition of Peach in this one), and both events take place on a Super Smash Bros. universe stage (only in Event 1: Trouble King, the stage is Battlefield).
