Kamemushi, sometimes abbreviated as Kameme, is a Japanese smasher. He is considered to be the best Mega Man player in the world by an extremely large margin, with wins over ZeRo, Mr. R, VoiD, Shaky, False, Earth, 9B, Komorikiri, Nietono and RAIN to back that up. He is currently ranked 1st on the Umebura Smash 4 Power Rankings and 11th on the eSports Runner Japanese Smash 4 Power Rankings. Due to his seemingly out-of-nowhere prowess, as well as consistency in an unpredictable region, he has started to be seen as a top Japanese player. He won a trip to an American Smash tournament for placing 1st at KSB 2016. In his post-victory interview at Umebura 23, Kamemushi declared "I won Umebura just like I will win EVO this July", confirming he would use his travel award to attend the event.

EVO 2016 would be Kamemushi's first tournament outside of Japan. Despite Mega Man's perception as a mid-tier character in the current metagame, he made a surprising run through the tournament before finally losing to Ally in Winners Finals. He would defeat ZeRo in a 3-0 upset in Losers Finals before losing to Ally again in Grand Finals, rounding up to an outstanding 2nd place, in what would be the largest Smash Bros. tournament to date. His performance at EVO 2016 solidified him as one of the best players in the world, and has let to Mega Man being viewed much more favorably as a character in the metagame.

He is the 13th player to take a tournament set off ZeRo in Smash 4, and the first Japanese player to do so.
