Dark Link was a non-playable character in Melee. He only appeared in Event Match 18: Link's Adventure, though he was playable using Action Replay. In the event match he was essentially a computer controlled Link with a high level AI. He's Link's shadow and or darker shelf. In Brawl he is one of Link's alternative costumes.
