Smash Summit is an ongoing national Super Smash Bros. Melee invitational tournament being held in Los Angeles, California on November 5th-8th, 2015 by Beyond the Summit, a company known for their Dota 2 coverage. Singles, doubles and side events will be hosted. It is an invitational tournament, where 10 of the world's top players were invited to participate, along with 6 players who will be selected from a player donation poll organised by Smash.gg. The tournament will be held at the Summit gaming house, a private residence, and so is not open to the general public.

Player voting

From a selection of roughly 40 players, 20 of them were voted in by fans to engage in an elimination round where, by a certain date, if a player did not receive enough votes, they were eliminated and thus did not receive an invitation from Smash Summit. In later rounds, the players who received the most votes were invited in addition to the eliminations. The following players were among the 20 that were eliminated or invited by round:

Declined Players

Some players, though either invited to the Summit directly or nominated for the Player Voting rounds, declined their offers due to unavailability. Players like Professor Pro, aMSa, and Abate declined nominations for the voting round. Hungrybox was the only player who declined direct invitation due to work conflict pre-voting. After the voting, it was revealed that Leffen could not attend due to the same Visa issues that prevented him from attending The Big House 5. As a result, the Summit Staff replaced him with who they deemed the next best player in the world, Shroomed, who ironically was eliminated in Round 5 of the voting round.
