I don't think the R.O.B. in Smash Bros. has ever been confirmed to be directly based off the real one. If anything, it seems like the Aincent Minister, judging by its Boxing Ring title, but either way, it doesn't have a stated location of origin. Nyargleblargle (Talk) 15:17, 19 June 2015 (EDT)

Correct. This "real world place of origin" thing is a pretty questionable bit of trivia, since it runs into trouble with stuff like R.O.B., pre-retcon Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong, and the fact that several other series involve Earth in their continuities (are Pikmin from a "real world place"?) just complicates the whole thing out of relevance or interest.
