I just dropped one by pressing A while (after being hit). You can use it again (so you basically get more time) or recover if you've been knocked off the edge. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 10:54, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I remember one time the hammer head fell off on me, and (to my utter surprise!) it hit an opponent and KOed him! (BTW I was holding the hammer, and all that happened is the head fell off, and since it is in the air for a brief moment, it has to land somewhere, and the opponent was where it was going to land, so when it hit him, it KOed him and I won the match! (Lucky Me ^_^) Learner4 (talk) 15:35, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes, that's true. You can hit and KO players with a Headless Hammer before the head comes off, sometimes the falling head hits another player and damages him.Mariofan13 (talk) 12:57, 16 January 2015 (EST)

Can anyone explain, with detail just how can one drop the hammer? Personally, I've been trying countless times and no result whatsoever. {EspyoT} 19:48, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Well, I just did it today, so I'll explain then. Brinstar, 0.5 damage, handicap yourself with 9 (or maybe less). Choose a medium-light weight character (like Mr. Game and Watch and preferably Slo-Mo Melee. It's best if the other player is human controlled. Once the acid is high enough, fall on it, and press Z only when you are starting to fall. After a while, it's done. Mashing Z seems to make matters worse. {EspyoT} 18:30, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Duration time in Bros.

Assuming that the 7.5 seconds applies to Melee and Brawl, Bros.'s Hammer duration seems much longer. Have we actually tested the difference between the games? MegaTron1XD:p 11:08, 3 August 2011 (EDT)

Actual games the Hammer was from.

The hammer is A Super Smash Bros item that originates from Zelda 2, Kid Icarus, and Kirby's Adventure, not Donkey Kong.--66.75.68.110 22:35, 27 July 2015 (EDT)
