Donkey Kong is an old rival of Mario, dating back to their first video game appearance. In Super Smash Bros. he is a powerful fighter, being both strong and fast. He has the unique ability of being able of walk while grabbing an opponent, giving him the chance to leave his enemies in dangerous, and sometimes helpless, situations. His symbol is his "DK". Donkey Kong will return in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Taunts
- Donkey Kong's first taunt is him looking at the player, pursing his lips and shaking his head grunting "I don't know". He holds his palms out to the sides while doing this.
- DK's second taunt introduced in Brawl is DK beating on his chest like a gorilla.
- DK's third taunt is grunting and shaking his head vigorously while looking forward. This taunt was also newly introduced in Brawl.
Final Smash
Donkey Kong's Final Smash attack is called the Konga Beat. Donkey Kong will play his famous DK Bongos loudly. If players press the buttons with good timing, they will be able to play music. If you look closely at DK's Bongos, you will see that it is actually the GCN Bongo Controller from the game, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.

To unlock this trophy you must complete classic mode as DK.

To unlock this trophy you must complete adventure mode as DK.
Blue Smash DK trophy
To unlock this trophy you must complete all-star mode as DK.
