Pikachu takes part in Target Blast.

Target Blast (スマッシュボンバー, Smash Bomber) is a gameplay mode that appears in the Stadium of at least Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. In the game, the player is tasked with inflicting damage to a bomb on a special platform, then launching it into a structure composed of various blocks, filled with Targets and other rewards. The bomb starts at ten seconds and once the player attacks with it, the clock will start (Touching the bomb also starts the clock). When hit with a powerful attack, the bomb is sent flying, after which its regular trajectory will destroy most objects in its path; after ten seconds have passed in the mode, the bomb will then explode, destroying any objects around it, as well as potentially starting physics-based chain reactions due to the blocks around the bomb being dislodged. As a result of this, much of the strategy in Target Blast comes from deciding on when the bomb should be sent.

Players have two attempts to send the bomb flying, and the score is based on the combined score of both attempts. If the player fails to send the bomb out of the specialized platform before the time runs out, they will receive a score of zero for the run.

The scores in this mode are used as part of Global Smash Power.
