Article on Wikipedia Doc Louis

Jerome "Doc" Louis (ドック・ルイス, Dokku Ruisu) is a non-playable character from the Punch-Out!! series. He is a retired boxer who trains Little Mac in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! on NES and Punch-Out!! for Wii.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Doc Louis does not appear in Brawl in person, but he is mentioned in the description of Little Mac's trophy.

In Super Smash Bros. 4

Doc Louis appears in Little Mac's trailer for Super Smash Bros. 4, where he is seen training him, as well as narrating the gameplay portion of the trailer as advice called out to Mac. He appears in all of Little Mac's victory poses in the game itself, briefly sparring with him and cheering him on. A real life Doc Louis also appears in an American commercial for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Trophy description

Doc Louis appears as a trophy in at least Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Every great boxer needs a capable teacher. Little Mac lucked out with former famous heavyweight Doc Louis. If he's not eating his favorite chocolate bar or making jokes, he's sparring with Little Mac. He'll gladly take a knockout blow from Little Mac if it will help the boxer make it big!
