KoRoBeNiKi is an American smasher from New Jersey. He is mostly known for being one of the more active original Super Smash Bros. players as well as one of the founding Back Room members. In this game, he uses Yoshi as a main and Captain Falcon as a secondary. He is a pro-amateur player in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, maining Luigi and Ganondorf in Melee and maining Luigi and Mr. Game and Watch in Brawl. He is a member of the the once top online crew, Prodigies of Premium Smash.
Super Smash Bros. online
Around fall of 2006, KoRoBeNiKi was told about online Super Smash Bros. by MattNF. At the start, he had some trouble getting used to the game. He started out using Luigi, Captain Falcon, and Donkey Kong but he did not short hop and was overall a below average player.
The Better Days
During January 2007, SuperBoomFan allowed him to join the crew PPS (though, it was mostly because of being a Falcon user and a friend of MattNF). He was the 4th or 5th player to join the clan and joined around the same time as Fireblaster. KoRo started to main Yoshi after barely losing a Yoshi only tournament to the top Yoshi main at that time.
Recent Super Smash Bros.
KoRoBeNiKi still plays Super Smash Bros against challengers to this day. Many people consider him to be one of the best Yoshi players online along with SheerMadness, Frogles, Star King, and th3kuzinator, as well as one of the most notable keyboard users. Like in all other Smash games, he has a primary weakness. In this game, it would be a top Mario user or a top Kirby player. The tornado on Hyrule Castle is KoRoBeNiKi's other main weakness as he tends to be vulnerable to combos leading into the "nado", as he calls it himself. His least favorite low tier matchup is Yoshi vs. Donkey Kong or Yoshi vs. Luigi. He actually likes playing against Pikachu and Fox regardless of their tier placement. Super Smash Bros. is KoRoBeNiKi's favorite Smash game due to its lagless online functionality and its character balance.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
At the start, KoRoBeNiKi used Roy and Luigi. His original tag in tournaments was GCLU, for his first/last initial and being a Luigi user, but he quickly changed it to KoRoBeNiKi (the Tetris music) after joining Smashboards. Currently, Luigi is his main character with Ganondorf, as well as Captain Falcon being a secondary.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
KoRoBeNiKi bought Brawl a few days after it was released. He primarily mains Luigi, due to Luigi being his main in Melee, and liking the fact that Luigi can combo heavily in a non-combo heavy game. He secondaries Marth Falco and Mr. Game and Watch. In low-tier tournaments, his mains are Captain Falcon, Pokémon Trainer and Mario. He did main Ness in these tournaments before Ness was moved into the mid tiers. KoRoBeNiKi has mostly quit Brawl due to the dominance of Meta Knight, though he went to some national Brawl tournaments such as Apex 2012.
Online ladders
On SBR when KoRoBeNiKi played there, his rank was between 50 and 100 out of the around 1300 ranked people before he stopped going there when the doubles ladder was never made. On the earlier AllisBrawl ladders, KoRo placed around the top 200 to 300 people. In the most recent ladders, he hasn't had as much success and as of now he is very rarely playing Wi-Fi Brawls.
KoRoBeNiKi, similar to other AiB members to show that GameBattles was a joke, entered the Brawl ladder for GB as well. He got to the top 10 places very easily using secondaries. KoRo has been banned from the GB forums due to advertising AiB and has since quit.
Doubles
KoRoBeNiKi prefers doubles over singles in all 3 games. He uses Falcon as a main for doubles in Super Smash Bros., as Yoshi has problems spacing. In low tier doubles, KoRoBeNiKi mains Yoshi, Samus, and Donkey Kong.
