Starban
Super Tricky Athletic Radical Boy And Nose, commonly abbreviated as Starban, is a character in Brawl 4. Originally from the ultraverse, Starban joins the brawl as a starter character who wields his mind as his primary weapon.
Starban is notable for being at the top of the Brawl 4 tier list due to the very high speed of his attacks, having many attacks with transcending priority, many recovery options that grant him a long, relatively safe and unpredictable recovery, effective wall of pain options, KO moves that are both agile and reliable, and incredible matchups; Starban has no overall disadvantageous matchups.
This does mean that he doesn't have any disadvantages. Starban is a heavyweight character, meaning that he is not knocked out easily, especially against characters with many low-power attacks such as Oni Dark Link. His high air speed and fast grab release animation also make him unsuspectible to grab release combos by certain characters, such as RansomTime, who can't combo Starban. Starban also lacks a damaging attack and must use OHKO moves to attack.
Due to his incredible fighting prowess, general popularity in the Brawl 4 community (he was and is considered "awesome" among many), non-existent weaknesses and over-centralisation of the metagame, all other characters were banned from the only valid ruleset. This makes Starban the only legal character in Brawl 4.
Matchups
Starban has a +4 matchup against everyone in the game, except for Giant Link, due to his grab potentially outreaching Starban's OHKO attacks. However, since Giant Link lacks options outside of zero-to-death chaingrabs against Starban, the matchup is still +3 in favour of Starban.
Trivia
- Starban is the only character in Brawl 4 to have tech skill. This is because he is not Nintendo.
