Super Mario Bros. 2 (originally Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic in Japan, but then modified later and called Super Mario USA) is a platforming video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System video game console.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee
- The Mushroom Kingdom II stage is based on the settings of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario USA, namely Subcon.
- Many characters from this game, such as Birdo, Pidgit, and Shy Guys appear in Super Smash Bros. Melee either as enemies, trophies, or stage elements.
- Shy Guys were introduced in this game, appearing in the Yoshi's Story stage.
- The character Peach has the down special move Vegetable, which originated from SMB2 as well as her ability to float if the jump button is held.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Shy Guys are seen on the Mario Circuit stage.
- Peach's Vegetable move and floating abilities return.
- The game is available as a masterpiece by winning in Versus mode with Peach five times. The game starts you with Peach, yet the player can change their character to either Mario, Luigi, or Toad once they make Peach lose all her lives.
