Approaching attack

Approach Attacks are those that can also be considered projectiles that use the character's body as the projectile. I.e. the attack moves the character a considerable distance (e.g. Wolf's Side Smash, although it moves him, would not be in this category as the distance is not significant). Thus these attacks provide a safer approach than simply Walking through offensive strategies.

- Captain Falcon and Ganondorf's Side Special (Raptor Boost) and Down Special (Falcon Kick)
- Sonic's many spin attacks (Spin-Dash)
- Ice Climbers' Squall Hammer when used sideways
- Luigi's Luigi Cyclone when used sideways
