You should not revert good contributions
このメッセージはうまく伝わらないかもしれませんが、要は、たとえ悪い編集者が作ったものであっても、良い投稿は残しておくべきだということです。
I noticed that you undo all contributions made by sock puppets of the banned user Yousei0718, even if the contributions are fine. This is wrong; you should only undo bad contributions. Constructive contributions should always be kept, regardless of who made them. Please carefully review contributions before you revert them, even if they were made by a banned user. Some of them may be good and shouldn't be reverted. Yours truly, Ender R. Musk. 23:37, August 15, 2022 (EDT)
I am aware that some good edits have certainly been revoked, but to acknowledge even good edits would only be coddling Yousei0718. I don't want to have a sterile Edit war either, and I believe that correct edits should remain, but I also believe that it is unacceptable for someone who has caused some problems to repeatedly avoid penalties. This is a problem caused by his insensitivity, and what bothers me the most is that we have an unusual situation where someone who has been banned for inappropriate behavior continues to edit forever without remorse. Even if there is no direct damage, it is not good that this situation continues.--Suna (talk) 06:34, August 16, 2022 (EDT)
- If you want a sockpuppet to be punished, report it on the Administrator noticeboard, but keeping good contributions is more important to SmashWiki than punishing users. The situation is not unusual. Memoryman3, a user obsessed with Princess Daisy, was banned years ago but continuously evades the ban to make more contributions. The solution is simply to have an administrator ban the IP address, undo any bad contributions, and move on. As editors, we have better things to do than to spend all day worrying about whether bad users feel remorse. It happens constantly. Yours truly, Ender R. Musk. 12:27, August 16, 2022 (EDT)
