Iron Warrior's Wall of Shame
Hi there!
Welcome to our wiki, and thank you for your contributions! There's a lot to do around here, so I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.
- Read this first as it provides many great resources designed to help users get oriented with the wiki and become part of the community.
- Visit the recent changes to see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
- Questions? You can ask at the help desk or on the "discussion" page associated with each article, or post a message on my talk page!
- Need help? The community portal has an outline of the site, and pages to help you learn how to edit.
I'm really happy to have you here, and look forward to working with you!

I must be doing this right
Well, I must be doing this right because nobody's sent me any other messages like on other people's talk pages.:D Iron Gladiator (talk) 09:09, 19 August 2017 (EDT)
- Maybe, but this could count as misuse of a talk page, so I would advise that you read SW:TALK. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 09:15, 19 August 2017 (EDT)
- Oh. Should I delete this? Iron Gladiator (talk) 09:18, 19 August 2017 (EDT)
- No, this should stay, but just letting you know for future reference. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 09:20, 19 August 2017 (EDT)
- Alright, then. Thanks, man. Iron Gladiator (talk) 09:21, 19 August 2017 (EDT)
- Colons (:) should be put in place when posting on talk pages to keep messages in line when replying to another. I've made the changes this time. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the Internets go! :3 10:48, 19 August 2017 (EDT)

I goofed...sorry...
I feel really stupid right now because I didn't realize what you were trying to say about the Charizard back air thing. Sorry about that. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 13:05, 22 August 2017 (EDT)
It's OK, everyone makes mistakes. Sorry for being so harsh in the edit summaries. Iron Gladiator (talk) 20:04, 22 August 2017 (EDT)
Listen
Neither variations of Cape give a horizontal boost, in fact, they both stunt your horizontal momentum, and if you have none, you do not gain any. However they do give you a small boost upwards, hence the vertical boost, and this is larger with Gust Cape. What you just did was an example of edit warring, which can potentially get you blocked, which is why I used rollback (which can be used against violations of 1RV). In future, if you are unsure about why someone has ondone your edit, you should ask them on their talk page instead of double-undoing it. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 09:42, 28 August 2017 (EDT)
I think I just realized something. I think what Mario's cape does is simply killing all of your momentum, stalling you and pushing you forward first. I wasn't thinking about that. So sorry for being a dick and not thinking. Iron Gladiator (talk) 09:48, 28 August 2017 (EDT)
Section editing
If you have a lot of edits to make on one page, please consider using the edit button at the top of that page to make all your edits in one go, rather than editing each section individually. We ask that people do this for the same reasons that we ask people to use the 'Show Preview' button; it floods the Recent Changes page with edits, and makes them harder to check. Thanks! Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the Internets go! :3 20:20, 4 September 2017 (EDT)
- Alright, just a reminder of this, you seem to be doing it again. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 22:10, 12 February 2018 (EST)
- At the time, I was editing on my tablet (tablets do not allow you to edit all the sections on a page at once) and that's why I had to do that, sorry for the inconvenience. Right now I'm editing on my laptop, so I can edit all the sections in one shot again. Iron Reggie, Master of Memes 01:09, 16 February 2018 (EST)
- One thing that will help is going to the bottom of the page and clicking on 'Desktop Site', this will allow you to edit on SmashWiki as you do on a desktop. I use it for my iPhone, and prefer that. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 03:31, 16 February 2018 (EST)

Clearly, an edit summary doesn't cut it
Perhaps a more free form of expression via the talk page can get what I was trying to say across.
Your argument is that we should leave the bit about Luigi's Brawl dair being harder to meteor cancel, due to the fact that we "put lower falling speeds". That's because those are actual changes in how a character moves from game to game. Brawl was criticized for being so slow because of those lower fall speeds, not because the game was physically slower than Melee. To quote the wiki itself, "in Brawl, meteor cancels are not indicated and can only be done after 25 frames (depending on the character), and attempting to jump to meteor cancel before this will result in a 40 frame penalty before the window opens (this penalty does not apply if attempting to use an up special to meteor cancel without making a jump input)."
tl;dr your argument is invalid on both ends. We put one and not the other because they're two entirely different things covered in two different places. Aidan, the Spooky Rurouni 23:49, 13 October 2017 (EDT)
Also stop violating SW:1RV; when someone reverts you, you don't just undo their revert without proper discussion, especially not when multiple people are reverting you. Omega Tyrant 16:15, 14 October 2017 (EDT)
Ohhhhhh that makes more sense. *facepalm* Iron Gladiator (talk) 18:24, 14 October 2017 (EDT)
- What did I say about SW:1RV? You did it again with the bit about Luigi's fair, violate it once more and you'll receive a day block. As for Luigi's Brawl fair, here are the post-calculation knockback values on it:
- 50.07 base knockback, with .6833 units of knockback scaling per percent.
- It requires 186 units of knockback to KO Mario from the center of FD with the Sakurai Angle and no DI, and Luigi's fair will exceed that mark around 199%, a KO% mark that's not good at all but certainly in realistic ranges for it to potentially KO, especially when near the ledge and/or with bad DI. "It doesn't KO at any reliable percent" implies something that won't KO until near unrealistic sudden death percentages, like Brawl Dark Dive or Super Missiles. Luigi's fair is certainly not an example of that. Omega Tyrant 19:02, 14 October 2017 (EDT)
I'll fix it and put something else. I already did fix it actually but I'll fix it anyway. Iron Gladiator (talk) 20:42, 14 October 2017 (EDT)
Beware of attack types
I saw you try to make an edit to the spin article, listing some additional attacks as spin-type. Unfortunately, just because an attack looks like Spin, that doesn't mean it is:
- Peach's neutral aerial is Arm.
- Most of Giga Bowser's moveset has no types assigned (they didn't bother).
- Link's Spin Attack and Meta Knight's neutral aerial are Sword.
- Squirtle's down smash is Water.
It's a pain, but "type" is a technical concept that the average person can't always get right without looking at the game data (especially Spin, it's one of the harder ones). Just letting you know why I undid your edit (because the edit summary box is pretty small). Toomai Glittershine The Frivolous 19:03, 16 October 2017 (EDT)
Wow, that must be a real pain in the ass. Thanks for telling me. Iron Gladiator (talk) 23:10, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
Forums
Please do not reply to old forums that have not had replies in years. They're old and archived for the most part, and nobody's really going to reply to something that isn't exactly relevant anymore. If you want to start up a discussion again, however, feel free to make a new forum article. Additionally, while it's not a problem at the moment, I should point out to you that over-editing in the forums could result in you being put on probation if persisted, so please keep this in mind in the future. Disaster Flare (talk) 22:38, 23 October 2017 (EDT)
Don't worry, I was getting bored with it. Thanks 4 da info. Iron Gladiator (talk) 22:39, 23 October 2017 (EDT)
Semi-spikes
It's very nice to see that you've been active on the wiki lately, but please be sure that if you are going to add a move to the page List of semi-spikes (SSB4) that you check beforehand that the move is, in fact, a semi-spike. You can find the angle data (among other things) on this website: http://kuroganehammer.com/Smash4. A semi-spike is anything of angles 35 and below, and the Sakurai angle (361) isn't a semi-spike, as at higher knockback values, its angle is raised up to 40 degrees. Other than that, keep up the good work. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 13:37, 30 October 2017 (EDT)
Oh, OK. Thx. Iron Gladiator (talk) 18:18, 30 October 2017 (EDT)
Hello
Would you mind explaining why this particular fellow shares the exact same IP as you? I expect an honest answer. Disaster Flare (talk) 11:42, 24 November 2017 (EST)
I honestly have not the slightest clue why someone else would have the exact same IP as me. The dude I live with loves Smash too and knows about this wiki though, and he certainly might have made an account, though God knows if or when he did. He was the one who told me about this wiki too, when I was having some trouble successfully performing Jigglypuff's wall of pain in Smash 4, he told me and I looked on here. After I had practiced and successfully performed it, I created an account on the wiki.
That's all. Hope this gives you some info on why someone might have the same IP as me. Iron Reggie, Master of Memes (talk) 11:45, 3 February 2018 (EST)
I said it on the other page, but...
I’ll say it here too, since this is a semi-important part of the talk page policy, and you’re not following it. If your post on a talk page is a reply to a comment, your post should be preceded by a colon (:) before the first word you type. The first reply should be preceded by one colon, the second reply should be preceded by two, and so on. Try it out by replying to this comment, remembering to insert a colon at the very start of the post. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 00:59, 9 February 2018 (EST)
- Just ensuring there's no confusion here, he meant a colon, NOT a comma. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 09:24, 9 February 2018 (EST)
- Cool, dude. Thanks. Iron Reggie, Master of Memes 22:29, 11 February 2018 (EST)
- Okay, you've been forgetting to do this - if your reply has several lines, you must remember to indent the lines as well.
- Each new line should have the same number of colons as the other lines of your reply, if they're part of the same reply - like I've done here. Also, you must remember to insert TWO line breaks, otherwise the wiki system won't break the paragraph at all, so be careful! For some reason though, this won't happen if the lines are indented though... Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 00:21, 3 March 2018 (EST)

Hey listen...
I really don't want it to sound like I'm having a go at you, but there's something I think needs to be brought up. Recently you've been inserting yourself into a lot of talk page discussions, and I fear that you are not using the proper tact that is required for doing such things. You seem to come off as kinda aggressive in talk pages, and also it's apparent that you are still not 100% accustomed and understanding of all of our policies and how they work. In future, I would ask you to please be a bit more careful with your wording, and to make sure that you fully understand what you are talking about, as the worst thing you can do on someone's talk page is send them mixed signals, since this is more likely to confuse or upset them than help in any way. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 06:29, 16 February 2018 (EST)
- Oh, I'm sorry. I have ASD and sometimes it may not be totally clear what exactly I'm trying to get across when I'm communicating with other people, even online. I'm truly sorry if I come across as a bit aggressive, but the truth is, I'm a mentally unstable person who has serious issues with sociallizing with people (actually, that's why I play video games in the first place :P) so I hope I haven't caused any trouble. Iron Reggie, Master of Memes 18:37, 17 February 2018 (EST)
- As someone who has ASD myself, I would just like to point out that it should only be used as an explanation, and not as an excuse. I would also like you to have a read of my talk page post below this one when you can, please. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. - While you're here, will I have to archive my talk page soon? Just checking. Iron Reggie, Master of Memes 20:06, 17 February 2018 (EST)
- Try not to do so many rapid-fire comments on talk pages, it made me very difficult to post replies. I'll take care of them in one go now.
- Fair enough, and I'm glad to see that. I see too many people trying to use it to excuse themselves, especially on the internet. I am happy to see you are not one of those people.
- That's good.
- The guideline for archiving is when your talk page reaches 32KB in size. You are not even close to this yet. You can check how large your page is by looking at the History tab. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 20:11, 17 February 2018 (EST)

Slow down, hotshot
You've been getting a bit antsy with the SmashWiki side of things lately. First off, even if you believe that certain admins are no longer active, it is not the place of the user to make changes to the admin list, unless of course, they have been instructed to do so. Second, removal of tags must never be done without a consensus being reached. I refer to the move tag you tried to remove recently. I'm in the process of resolving it, but these things take time. Finally, all your comments on Tazzy Taz's page were unnecessary, adding absolutely nothing to the discussion, holding potential for disruptive behaviour and given how much time has passed between the last comment made there, should never have been made in the first place. I strongly suggest you take a bit of time to brush up on some of SmashWiki's policies, particularly on consensus and talk pages. Take it easy please, and have a nice day. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 08:31, 16 February 2018 (EST)
Okay, so I have another bugbear - posting the welcome message on [User talk:BALL$|profiles like these]. The welcome template should only be used on new users who have made good-faith edits, and the user in question is neither new, nor has made any good-faith edits (while they seem good-faith, a look at the history shows that they've twice tampered with the MD/VA PR). We know you mean well, but please make sure you double-check a user's history before using this template. Thank you. (Side note: when using the template, you do not need to sign your comment - it does this automatically) Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. - Ah. You know, when I looked at it in the show preview section, I thought it didn't sign properly. Thanks. Iron Reggie, Master of Memes 10:16, 26 February 2018 (EST)
- Okay, I’d like to make a minor correction to what I said before. The welcome and welcomeIP templates only work properly if you type them as a subst: transclusion like this: {{subst:welcome}}. Otherwise you’re just putting in the raw template. Learn from my mistakes here. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 21:25, 5 March 2018 (EST)

Dash vs Run
Dash is used for the initial sprint. Run is used for the continuous movement. It is used in that manner and in the headers on dash. --CanvasK (talk) 19:22, March 10, 2022 (EST)
I already mentioned this in an earlier edit, and was about to undo your edit myself. It's best to separate the terms dash and run, because dash can refer to both the initial dash and the run, and so is ambiguous, whereas run always refers to the run, the stable portion that takes place after the initial dash. Alex the Weeb 19:25, March 10, 2022 (EST)
- Yeah, it was more of a pet peeve of mine since the page dash itself directly refers to said running motion and it's not consistent with most other character pages, but understood. Your Senpai, Iron Warrior 14:37, March 15, 2022 (EDT)
Block talk
You shouldn't threaten/suggest a user will be blocked. It doesn't help the situation. --CanvasK (talk) 15:53, March 16, 2022 (EDT)
- Ah, yeah, I see how it could be interpreted that way. Sorry, didn't mean for it to come off like that. I wasn't attempting to threaten them, I meant to advise them about the potential situation, which I actually see users doing fairly frequently. I'll try to keep that in mind, though. Your Senpai, Iron Warrior 19:22, March 16, 2022 (EDT)
