Trivia
- Eight is the only playable character originating from the 2000s not present in the event, due to him being an alternate costume for the Luminary.
- The Koopalings however, can be selected as alternate costumes for Bowser Jr. which would break the theme as they debuted in the 1980s.
- Both the Japanese and English names are a reference to the Mega Man series, which was stated to take place in the year 200x (before being retconned into 20xx). The English title is also a reference to a meme created in 2013 that said everyone would be playing Fox in Melee.
