Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl are the fourth generation Pokémon games to be released for the Nintendo DS. Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl introduces 107 new species of Pokémon to the series. The game takes place in the fictional region of Sinnoh, where the player assumes control of Dawn or Lucas, and their main objective is to collect eight gym badges, thus qualifying for the Sinnoh Pokémon League. Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl introduces a new sinister organization gang named Team Galactic. The mascot of Pokémon Diamond is Dialga who is the "Master of Time" while the mascot of Pokemon Pearl is Palkia who is also known as the "Master of Space."

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl add an extensive amount of new features, such as Internet play over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, while building on older game concepts such as Pokémon Contests. Set in the fictional region of Sinnoh, the games cover the adventure of a single protagonist embarking on a quest to capture and train Pokémon while simultaneously thwarting the agenda of the criminal organization Team Galactic.

Super Smash Bros. series

So far, seven fourth generation Pokémon are set to appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Six of the creatures appear as Poké Ball Pokémon: Piplup, Munchlax, Manaphy, Regigigas, Cherrim, Leafeon and Glaceon. Shaymin and Darkrai was also in the Whobby demo.

In terms of playable characters, the fourth generation also has a representation, with Lucario as a playable character. Spear Pillar is also a stage in Brawl, complete with Dialga, Palkia, Cresselia, Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf in the background, while Electivire, Snover, Cherrim and Drifloon also appears on Pokémon Stadium 2.

New selections of Sinnoh Pokémon are set to return in Brawl. They are released from "Pokéballs". The random Pokémon that was released will offer aid in a variety of different ways to the player who releases them. Each of the Pokéball Pokémon plus numerous others will also be hosted as trophies and stickers.
