Beedrill
- For the trophy, see Beedrill (trophy).
Beedrill (スピアー, Supiā, Spear in original Japanese language versions) is a Pokémon that comes out of a Poké Ball.
Character description
Beedrill is a large, hornet-like Pokémon. It is one of the original 151 Pokémon that appeared in Pokémon Red and Blue. Its body resembles that of a hornet, with large butterfly wings and lance-shaped arms.
Role
In Super Smash Bros.
Beedrill makes its first appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series as a Poké Ball Pokémon in Super Smash Bros.. It performs Poison Sting; when Beedrill is summoned, a single Beedrill will fly off the screen. A couple of seconds later, a swarm of Beedrill will be moving horizontally across the screen. Any character that makes contact with Beedrill will take damage, excluding the summoner.
=In Super Smash Bros. Melee
Beedrill makes a second appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series in Super Smash Bros. Melee. This time, it is no longer a Poké Ball Pokémon; instead, its only contribution to the game is as a trophy. Beedrill has a "spiritual successor" of sorts in the Pokémon Unown, whose attack is very similar to Beedrill's.
