I am hoping that we can clear up the sections of the characters' moves, namely the order. Pretty much every type of page, stage, item, character, start off with the Origin of where it came from. Moves do not however. As with the stages, they contain an overview of the subject. However, some moves list their differences between installments, if there are any., regardless how small. I think Thunder and Quick Attack currently show the example I am suggesting. Overview>Origin>Smash>Trivia. Much like the stages, the Overview explains what it is. Lists the stuff Saffron City has, and explains what happens when Thunder is used. The Origin explains where they came from. Saffron City from Pokemon for the stage, and explains what the move is and does in its home series. Unlike the stages, the moves have more information on how it is applied and operates in Smash. Quick Attack explains how the move works, and lists differences or any extra info depending on the installment it applies to. The Final Smashes Volt Tackle and Light Arrow currently follow the same layout with the Overview and Origin. I feel it makes more sense, and is easier to find differing information when listed as Overview>Origin>Smash>Trivia. Thank you. Wolff (talk) 17:20, June 19, 2019 (EDT)
I feel that explaining what a move is, followed by where it came from, then how it is applied in Smash is easier to understand differences in installments and makes the pages flow nicer. Wolff (talk) 00:53, June 21, 2019 (EDT)
- Disagreeing because as a Smash encyclopedia, more people come here to look up how something works in Smash compared to people who come here to look up the origin of something in Smash. The latter is a trivium outside the game; the former is part of the game. If I look up a stage, I want to know its attributes in Smash before I know what game(s) it came from. - An Overview is an explanation of what it is. Or more accurately, "a general review or summary of a subject", while a summery is, "a brief statement or account of the main points of something". It is suppose to be a short explanation of what the subject is. In this case, the moves and stage. Gives you general idea of what it is. All the pages have the Origin at the top, stages are the only exception. The Origin tells you what it actually is and where it came from. In the case for moves, it then shows how those are applied in Smash. If you wanted to argue that the Origin should be closer to the bottom of a page for the reason you explained, then it would need to be allied to all pages to keep consistency, of which the moves are currently the only type of page not consistent. In the case for a stage, it is difficult to get the general gist of it without going into detail due to it being a stage, but still applies the same idea, which is why the Tourney info goes below the Origin and not above. Order for moves has been set for a long time, it's just that people don't abide by it always. It should be: opening, overview (sub headers for every user of the move), customs (if smash 4), origin, gallery (if applicable), trivia, references. SerpentKing 13:15, June 23, 2019 (EDT)
