The following contains a list of unlockables a player can obtain in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Unlockable characters
The starter characters are the same as in Super Smash Bros.: Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, and Pikachu. All other characters are unlockable, though the exact unlock criteria are currently unknown.
DLC
Players who purchase the game in the eShop or register a physical copy with My Nintendo before January 31, 2019 receive a free download code for Piranha Plant. After this date, it will become available for purchase. The pricing is currently unknown.
Five currently unidentified characters are available for preorder as a bundle, and will also be available for purchase individually. See Downloadable content#Fighters Pass for the pricing.
Unlockable stages
All stages in the base game are available from the start. However, one currently unidentified stage will be bundled with each of the five downloadable characters. These five stages will also be part of the Fighters Pass.
Mii outfits and headgear
The availability of most outfits and headgear is currently unknown, with the following exception: Purchasing the Fighters Pass will award a Mii Costume for Swordfighters based off of Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
