'''Double Team''' is [[Lucario (SSBB)|Lucario's]] [[Down Special Move]]. When used,  Lucario performs a defensive tai chi-like stance. If it is attacked during this stance, it will teleport behind the attacker, then strike for moderate damage and surprisingly high knockback, which is even greater after Lucario has taken damage. If Lucario successfully counters with Double Team near an edge, it may teleport above the ledge and fall downwards as it unsuccessfully attacks, making recovery difficult.  There is some kind of lag after doing the attack in midair. Double Team has a shorter length than Marth's and Ike's Counter, but does more damage and knockback if it is pulled off.

Double Team.

Double Team is Lucario's Down Special Move.

In the Pokemon games, Double Team is a normal-type other move which raises evasion (I.E. any attacks used against the Pokemon who used Double Team will have 10% less accuracy), and can be stacked for even larger evasion boosts. The animation in Brawl is similar to the animation in the Pokemon games and in the anime. In the anime, it is widely used to confuse the characters, as the illusions appear to move independent of the original pokemon. The illusions normally disappear upon contact, but in the seventh Pokemon movie, a Deoxys created copies of itself capable of carrying people and Pokemon. They could, however, be repelled by fairly weak attacks. Since moves like this are based on luck and just make it more likely for your opponent's attacks to miss, the Evasion Clause was created for tournaments. When in effect, the rule bans all moves that decrease accuracy or increase evasiveness.
