It is the 4th edition of the Smash the Record tournament series.  Many players did not take this tournament seriously, playing secondary or joke characters.  In addition, all stages were legal, and game settings occasionally changed from match to match.  For example, one round of loser's semis was played with 10 stocks, the [[Timer]] enabled and set to high, and 2x knockback.
