| Starting in ''[[Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island]]'', Yoshi would [[Egg Lay|eat enemies to turn them into eggs]] and then throw the eggs at other enemies. The explosions of the Eggs seen in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' are based on Yoshi's Egg toss in ''[[Yoshi's Story]]'' where the Eggs had larger explosions the happier Yoshi was.

Egg Throw is Yoshi's Up B move. Egg Throw was altered slightly in Brawl: Rather than just causing Yoshi to toss an egg at an enemy, it'll also make him go farther in the air as well. The egg that is tossed can be directed via the joystick.
