The Chain is Sheik's Forward B attack. If the player continues to hold the B button, they can control the movement of the Chain and twirl it in any direction, even behind Sheik. It is useful in some cases as an edgeguard, but due to its long lag time, low damage, and low knockback, it is almost never used in competitive play.

In Brawl, the chain can be used as a Tether Recovery.
