The Chain is Sheik's Forward B attack. If you continue to hold the B button, you can control the movement of the Chain and twirl it in any direction, even behind Sheik. It is useful in some cases as an edgeguard, but due to it's lagginess, low damage, and low knockback; it almost never used in competitive play.
