Jam with the Band (大合奏!バンドブラザーズ, Daigasso! Band Brothers) is a series of music games developed by Nintendo debuting on the Nintendo DS. The songs in the games range from classical music, video game music and television themes. Players may compose their own songs and a multi-player version is included where each player plays a different instrument. The original game in the series tentatively intended for release in English as Jam with the Band, but this was abandoned; the second game in the series (known as Daigasso! Band Brothers DX in Japan) was the only one released in English, under the title Jam with the Band. The series has never been released in North America, only in Japan and Europe.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Assist Trophy
Barbara Bat, the series' lead character, appears as an Assist Trophy in Brawl, under the name Barbara. Once summoned, she will play her electric guitar, producing an electric red shockwave around her, which inflicts a combo on opponents, potentially resulting in high damage.
Trophy
Barbara
- The manager of the music store GB Music in Waruwaru Town--her real name is Barbara the Bat. She leads the player through the game, showing her arrogant attitude as she cracks the whip at others but pampers herself. Her little brother's name is Tingtin the Bat. By the way, the "GB" in the name of her store stands for "Great Barbara," NOT "Game Boy."
- : Daigasso! Band Brothers (Japan Only)
- : Master of Illusion
In Super Smash Bros. 4
Barbara is no longer an assist trophy, but appears as a collectable trophy exclusive to the 3DS. A music track taken directly from Jam with the Band, PERFORMANCE, appears on the Gamer stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. A piece of Mii Fighter Headgear, "Barbara the Bat Wig", is based off Barbara's hairstyle.
