Insufficient notability involving the ssb64 page
This is my first time I've used the "talk function" so I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly.
Concerning this "insufficient notability". The pages i put out as glitches such as "PK thunder freeze glitch", "Roll Glitch", and "SleepSliding glitch" have all been marked "Considered for deletion in accordance with the deletion policy." You say the "glitch has no real impact on the competitive scene, and only 100,000+ views".
1) The sleepsliding glitch has no real impact on the scene, but hey what if someone tried the glitch out as a ledge-guard? Maybe for doubles it could be a useful way for team 1 to get pikachu from one side to the other for a ledge-guard with jigglypuff if team 2 were off-stage. Or maybe Jigglypuff use sleep as an aerial defense against pikachu as it tries to quick attack onto the stage? We could hopefully see someone expand this concept. The other thing is that I have noticed you took out some old glitches such as "blackhole glitch" cause it was very similar to the "green-shell glitch" but then again, the green-shell glitch isnt used in the competitive scene so why bother using that? 2) I'm not gonna lie but in a small community like smash 64 that's kind of a lot views granted how old this game is.
I've seen the sleepsliding glitch on other places already: http://es.smashbros.wikia.com/wiki/Archivo:SSB64_Sleeping_Pikachu_Glitch_(SleepSliding) Axe from Melee exploiting the glitch in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGTWI2f6AIE#t=418 melee, so maybe others can also as well.
3) I feel by inhibiting these sort of information there maybe be no opportunity for players to expand upon or experiment. I also feel that if there is a glitch it would be a neat trick for casual players to share and show each other and help expand the community. Anyways I didn't want to come off as rude but I'm still quite new to the wiki creation scene and am only trying to help.

- Aight, I'm gonna have to answer this in sections to bear with me a moment.
- 1) To answer your first question, the competitive thing wasn't the primary factor in my determining on whether or not it was notable (Black Hole glitch isn't usable in competitive play and it's still notable). It's noteworthy to mention, but it's not a key factor. The primary problem was the lack of attention to the glitch. As I said, the video only had 100,000+ views, which is impressive in of itself, but is also not as much as one would hope for. The biggest issue in terms of attention came from SmashBoards, which, as I said, only had two threads dedicated to talking about it (and there were barely any posts on both and none from anyone particularly notable) and no mention anywhere else.
- 2) Good point on most of what you said. The main thing I wanna point out is that wikia Smash sites aren't the most reliable places for determining notability (as just about anything is notable on wikia).
- 3) That last one isn't exactly our concern. If we were to follow under what you say, not only would this wiki be bloated with unnecessary content that barely anybody has heard of or cares about (such as smashers or even minor graphical glitches) and the wiki would be more of a strategy guide than anything, something that SW:NOT specifically says we are not. I know, it's not exactly the fairest in the world, but in all honesty it's worked.
- Hope all of this helps. Disaster Flare (talk) 15:59, 17 July 2016 (EDT)
- I've reviewed NA SSB64 Community and they seemed to be for this. If notoriety or notable is something you want as a factor, I'm willing to do a survey on the smashboard and on different FB ssb64 groups just to convince you that they want it. I'd rather you discuss this with David Shears cause this has with wiki entries (http://www.ssbwiki.com/Smasher:Shears) because of lack of data or evidence. For now I'll be through with any more entries involving glitches, techniques, or errors and such because I don't what will constitute as something even content-worthy.

- Well it's likely that with Miles pushing for a list of more minor glitches, this glitch will show up there (I'm not doubting the glitch is entirely unnotable), which I think it'll be perfect for there if you want my opinion. Personally I think a glitch should only have its own article if it has extreme notoriety for one reason or another, such as Black Hole and the Master Hand glitches, for instance. Page Creation
I was trying to upload an image to this wiki and couldn't do it, how can I do so?

Character Usage Rules
You see, that a problem I have with this rule. Armada didn't win any sets with Fox at EVO2016, so by the rules the character shouldn't be listed. But Armada did use the character in grand finals, all the way till the end. The purpose of a wiki is to record notable moments and history of a subject, it seems odd to me that we're ignoring a character used in Grand Finals of one of the largest Melee tournaments so far. From the perspective of someone that will read this wiki years from now, when they see Armada's 2nd place finish and only Peach listed, they'll think he lost to Hungry Box using her, while the actual Grand Finals footage will be confusing, since he only uses Fox on that set.
I honestly think this rule needs to change, since it goes against the purpose of recording part of the competitive scene memory.PFFP (talk) 11:48, 20 July 2016 (EDT)
- You're talking to the wrong person in this case. I pay little attention to the competitive side of the wiki, so all I do is follow the policies with no standpoint on what to think of it. If you really want it changed, I recommend either starting a forum post or a talk page post on the policy itself suggesting the change and marking it as a proposed policy change. Can you Semi Protect my userpage?
Can you semi Protect my Userpage with no expiry time? I had Someting similar on Wikipedia Just for the sake of IPs not editing my page, that hasn't happened yet, but im taking actions now. Thanks! TabuuandMasterCore 20:23, 20 July 2016 (EDT)
- Umm....no. Unless your userpage starts becoming a massive target for vandalism, no staff member will protect your userpage. Disaster Flare (talk) 20:25, 20 July 2016 (EDT)

If you didn't understand, he was making a joke about the reflector sound (or item pick up sound) and Fox's forward smash. lol i love the item pick up sound though Kirby's Crazy Appetite ~ 23:30, 27 July 2016 (EDT)
- No I get it, I just didn't understand why that was done in the first place. It's my way of assuming good faith. :P Disaster Flare (talk) 23:31, 27 July 2016 (EDT)
This
User in question appears to be editing his page as to act as a programming test, not so much vanity editing. As such, I don't think warning or considering probation for excessive userspace editing is entirely warranted in this case.

Don't Worry
Hi I apologise for the page, but I only have it temporarly so I can make a results screen for my friends as we had a recent tournament. As soon as its done, ill delete it immediately. Thanks and sorry for the concern
- It's cool. :P I didn't know for sure what you were doing so I figured it'd be better safe than sorry to message about it. Disaster Flare (talk) 02:50, 31 July 2016 (EDT)
Personal Information removal from page edit history
Hi,
I'm kinda new and recently created a player page on the wiki that you commented on (Smasher:Kira_(Australia)), however I've made a mistake and include a piece of personal information about the smasher they didn't want made public (date of birth). I noticed you were a wiki admin so I thought I'd contact you about it (sorry). The smasher in question has asked me to remove it from the page and remove it from the edit history of the page. However I'm not sure how to best go about that or even if it's possible (would be a bit funny if a fresh user could change edit history). Would it be easier to request a page deletion and then recreate the page without the removed information or is it possible to edit the page edit history to not include it?
Sorry if I've messaged the wrong person about this or gone through the wrong channel,
Regards
Omega (talk) 01:58, 3 August 2016 (EDT)
- Yes, it would be possible, but considering it involves multiple revisions, I dunno how likely it'd be to remove it entirely, but I'll try to hide it as best I can. Disaster Flare (talk) 02:00, 3 August 2016 (EDT)
Just letting you know

Er....am I missing something?
Any reason that the wiki looks like a slightly less dull Wikipedia? My CSS is completely botched (it's not even there anymore), and everything just got overhauled. Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 21:28, 9 August 2016 (EDT) Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 21:28, 9 August 2016 (EDT)
- And any reason for four tildes creating two sigs? Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 21:31, 9 August 2016 (EDT)
- Well I know Porple's tinkered with the site recently, but I don't know anything beyond that. My CSS works just fine so. :/ Disaster Flare (talk) 21:49, 9 August 2016 (EDT)
- It's so vastly different that I don't even know how to undo anymore... Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 22:24, 9 August 2016 (EDT)
- Well you had been gone a while so I'm sure it will take some getting used to. A lot had happened since you were last active, after all. Disaster Flare (talk) 22:26, 9 August 2016 (EDT)
- You're a bit late to the party, my friend. I've been back for at least three days and it was perfectly normal earlier today. I just got back from nonstop Pokemon Rumble World and this happened, Ganonmew, The Evil Clone 22:28, 9 August 2016 (EDT)
- Really? Huh...well I honestly don't remember if Porple changed anything today so I can't say what the deal is. o_o Disaster Flare (talk) 22:31, 9 August 2016 (EDT)

Any suggestions
On how to clean up the Exceptions section in the Star KO page? I cut down the wording and all, but the list doesn't look very nice, but I'm not sure if that matters. MuteSpittah (talk) 15:44, 12 August 2016 (EDT)
- I'm not entirely sure myself, to be honest. Article cleanups were never really my strong suit. Disaster Flare (talk) 15:47, 12 August 2016 (EDT)

"Notable players" rollbacking
For what it's worth, given how thoroughly we've given editors the requirements for notability, I would consider it acceptable to rollback instances of adding players without citing proof of notability. The main reason not to use rollback is that it doesn't give you the opportunity to leave an edit summary explaining why the edit was reverted, something which is less relevant when we have a million notes and advisories informing people how not to edit those sections. That's my reading of it, anyway. Miles (talk) 16:02, 16 August 2016 (EDT)
- Would it be a good time to bring this up again? It never really got resolved and I think it's still important. John PK SMAAAASH!! 16:45, 16 August 2016 (EDT)
The Brawl tier list doesn't fit on my screen horizontally. How can I shrink it?
The characters after Mr. Game & Watch and Link are off the page towards the right. I tried to fix it myself, but I can't figure out how to do it; everything I tried so far has only screwed it up (like removing the rank letters). Can you please help me? Unowninator (talk) 12:51, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
- Hmm....as far as I can tell, it only seems to be affecting you. Are you using mobile or computer? Disaster Flare (talk) 13:14, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
- A large laptop. Unowninator (talk) 13:16, 28 August 2016 (EDT)
- Dang, if it were mobile, that'd make sense, but I don't understand why it'd be doing something like that on a laptop. Try asking Toomai. IIRC he's typically the one who makes the tier list templates so maybe he knows why. Disaster Flare (talk) 13:17, 28 August 2016 (EDT)

Sorry about the undoing of the King Dedede (SSB4) edit. It wasn't my doing. My friend got on my account(cause I forgot to log out), and he saw I edited the page, and he undid it cause he wanted to see what I typed. Guess he forgot to put it back.
