- Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U are both officially announced as part of the game lineup for EVO 2016.

- At GENESIS 3, Armada, Mango, and Hungrybox take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles; ZeRo, Dabuz, and Ranai take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U singles; and wario, SuPeRbOoMfAn, and wangera take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Smash 64 singles.
