'''Support'''. This page is beefier in terms of history, and both PR's are good to begin with. No reason to not have the content of this page over there. [[User:F0rZ3r0F0r|F0rZ3r0F0r]] ([[User talk:F0rZ3r0F0r|talk]]) 00:10, 26 December 2015 (EST)

Move

Discuss. RoyboyX Talk 14:49, 28 August 2013 (EDT)

If the relevant power rankings are called the "Tristate Power Rankings", and there's no competing name, this title is fine (perhaps with "area" lowercase). Toomai Glittershine ??? The Obfuscating 18:02, 28 August 2013 (EDT)

Right. Unless you want to call it NY/NJ/PA like that. RoyboyX Talk 18:16, 28 August 2013 (EDT)

I am not saying that this article has to be moved. I'm not sure what this article should be called. I think "Tristate Area" is most appropriate, but I've seen people call it New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania, as well as New York/New Jersey. I would like some input on what it should be called, particularly from competitive players. Awesome Cardinal 2000 18:29, 28 August 2013 (EDT)

Bump. RoyboyX Talk 08:14, 4 September 2013 (EDT)

Personally I would say that the name "Tristate Area" is the better name for the page. But I do have to agree that there are more Tristate areas other than NY/NJ/PA so the name "Tristate Area" may not be as specific enough as it could mean any three states that happens to connect to each other so competitive players might have a point of naming the area NY/NJ/PA instead. Dots MewtwoMS.png The Kirby 23:09, 6 September 2013 (EDT)

How's this? We call it "Tristate area (NY/NJ/PA)" to show both names and in case there are other tristate areas we can distinguish. RoyboyX Talk 11:01, 7 September 2013 (EDT)

That would be fine with me, but I would not want to rename the page now. Awesome Cardinal 2000 11:27, 7 September 2013 (EDT)
I don't think that can be used because I don't think forward slashes can be used like that according to this, unless I'm wrong. BRAWLS BoFSig.png OF BoFSig.pngFURY 12:07, 7 September 2013 (EDT)
Well then we could do (NY-NJ-PA) or (NY, NJ and PA). RoyboyX Talk 12:12, 7 September 2013 (EDT)
NY-NJ-PA with a DISPLAYTITLE would be most appropriate in that situation. Awesome Cardinal 2000 12:15, 7 September 2013 (EDT)
There are other Tristate Areas? Source? DoctorPain99 12:19, 7 September 2013 (EDT)
Even among the NYC area, "Tristate Area" commonly refers to NY-NJ-CT instead of PA. Awesome Cardinal 2000 13:20, 7 September 2013 (EDT)
That's better clarified in the article, not the title. DoctorPain99 13:38, 7 September 2013 (EDT)
But there are no other such tristate areas (e.g. KY-TN-VA), am I right or wrong? Maybe if I'm wrong this page becomes a disambig or something? RoyboyX Talk 23:01, 9 September 2013 (EDT)

Bump. RoyboyX Talk 20:57, 10 September 2013 (EDT)

Bumpey. Do we actually need to rename this? RoyboyX Talk 23:08, 12 September 2013 (EDT)

If there are multiple tristate areas, this page should just be a disambiguation, with separate articles for the other areas. Unless the separate articles are too short (which I'm unsure about), I don't see any problems with this. Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 11:13, 13 September 2013 (EDT)

Right, but we don't have proof of other tristate areas. We would need some before we took that action. But do we actually need a rename? RoyboyX Talk 16:34, 13 September 2013 (EDT)
Well, in that case, I'm okay without a rename. The other names can easily just be mentioned in the opening paragraph. Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 16:36, 13 September 2013 (EDT)
Yeah. That whole thing about it usually being Connecticut not Pennsylvania can be mentioned and in fact it is. Can I detag it now? RoyboyX Talk 16:59, 13 September 2013 (EDT)
I guess. Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 17:00, 13 September 2013 (EDT)

(UNDENT) It isn't, Ac2k. To call it NY/NJ/PA would mean losing some professionalism. As we've told you, we can mention this in the article. We can also mention your Connecticut thing, which we did. RoyboyX Talk 18:07, 13 September 2013 (EDT)

When have I ever stated that I disliked the name of this article being "Tristate Area" because people would get confused over whether it included Connecticut or any other region or something like that? Awesome Cardinal 2000 18:36, 13 September 2013 (EDT)
Feel free to question the title however you want, but do you really think it should if it is in fact the more common name be renamed NY/NJ/PA? Wouldn't that be unprofessional? How about in the article we write "The Tristate Area of NY/NJ/PA" or something like that? RoyboyX Talk 18:48, 13 September 2013 (EDT)
How do you know if it's the more commonly used name in Smash? (however, I don't have any evidence supporting the other name as the more common one) Why would naming it NY/NJ/PA be unprofessional? Awesome Cardinal 2000 19:15, 13 September 2013 (EDT)
Maybe not unprofessional but against whatever rule there is in having slashes in non-subpage page titles. RoyboyX Talk 20:06, 13 September 2013 (EDT)

As long as it covers PA, the article's name should be "Tristate Area", that is what it's called, not "NY/NJ/PA", and "NY/NJ" does not cover PA. That's all there is to it. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 20:26, 13 September 2013 (EDT)

Support. If there are power rankings listed, I don't see the point in having two pages covering the same area. Berrenta (talk) 18:28, 25 December 2015 (EST)
