The Evolution Championship Series 2008, or simply EVO 2008, was a fighting game tournament held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from August 8th to 10th, 2008 at the Tropicana Las Vegas. It was the 7th edition of the EVO tournament series and featured Super Smash Bros. Brawl as an official game, replacing Melee from 2007. Over 110 players attended the tournament. CPU's R.O.B. defeated Ken's Marth in grand finals to win the tournament. The tournament was widely criticized for having many items turned on, including the Smash Ball.
