| If you want to see my current ''Smash 4'' tier list so far, see [http://pastebin.com/HPQASFWa here]. Don't treat this as the true tier list as it is still very early in the metagame. Here are some of my tier notes:

| *As of right now, it seems that {{SSB4|Diddy Kong}} is the most favored for the best character. Many options, Powerful and quick attacks, along with some very useful throws, nerfed but still useful Bananas, and that outright broken down throw to up aerial combo are just some reasons why he's this favored along with great early tournament results (if not amazing amount of wins).

| **There is even controversy on which Diddy Kong is too overpowered in this game in general. Some people think he is outright broken just like ''Brawl'' {{SSBB|Meta Knight}} while some, such as {{Sm|ZeRo}}, {{Sm|Mew2King}} and my older brother (the former two are infact Diddy Kong players themselves), doesn't think he's broken and not even the character who should be first on the SSB4 tier list due to some predictability issues, and instead the character at first should be {{SSB4|Sheik}}. I myself is personally borderline on the issue; I do believe that Diddy Kong is the best character but not to the extent as to completely dominating the metagame. Another reason why he's the best in my opinion is that he's easily powerful just like ''Brawl'' Meta Knight.

| *Second on my tier list is said {{SSB4|Sheik}}. It's obvious that she has many options and a great neutral game.

| *{{SSB4|Rosalina & Luma}} is also in my opinion a top tier character. as she can space very well and has very strong attacks with the Luma. My brother thinks she could actually be #1 (despite the 3DS version 1.0.4 nerf) on the SSB4 tier list, but on the polar opposite, there are some personal tier lists that ranked her at the very least at #12. I think she is top 5.

| *The other characters considered top tier are {{SSB4|Zero Suit Samus}}, {{SSB4|Yoshi}}, {{SSB4|Pikachu}} and to my surprise, even {{SSB4|Sonic}} should get a mention.

| **Heck, I even think Pikachu is a candidate for best character as well but probably not to the extent of Diddy Kong and Sheik.

| **Although not guaranteed top tier, honorable mentions goes to {{SSB4|Fox}}, {{SSB4|Lucario}} and {{SSB4|Ness}}.

| *Speaking of my brother, Little Mac, the character he mains on the other hand, I do not think he should rank anywhere in the top 30. While many fears him because of his uber ground game, he has a shitty air game and recovery as drawbacks, the former is something I highly do not like.

| *The bottom tier guys in my opinion are {{SSB4|Zelda}}, {{SSB4|Ganondorf}}, {{SSB4|Charizard}}, {{SSB4|Olimar}}, {{SSB4|Wii Fit Trainer}}, {{SSB4|Mii Gunner}}, and {{SSB4|Mii Swordfighter}}.

| *The reason why I rank {{SSB4|Luigi}} high is because he has a lot of good damage batterers and reliable KO options. I think he still has some range issues though.

| *I personally tried to put {{SSB4|Marth}} and {{SSB4|Lucina}} close together with Marth being slightly better.

| **Same deal goes with {{SSB4|Pit}} and {{SSB4|Dark Pit}}.
