8-Player Smash is a gameplay mode in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. This mode allows eight players to play on the same stage at one time. However, only a select few stages can be played on. The known stages are:

The stages will increase in size to accommodate all the players.

In addition to red, blue, yellow, and green indicators for players 1-4, players 5-8 receive new indicators colored orange, cyan, purple, and black respectively. In Team Battles, an additional team color, the yellow team, can be selected.

Trivia

  • There were unused sound clips and images in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS hinting the mode.
  • Interestingly, while Ω forms of stages are available in 8-Player Smash, Final Destination isn't an option for 8-Player Smash (said Ω stages are usually no bigger than Final Destination itself).
