The Guardian Orbitars (衛星ガーディアンズ, Guardians Satellite) arePit's and Dark Pit's down-special move in Super Smash Bros. 4.

Overview

Pit or Dark Pit summon two orbitars that generate shields on either side of him. They have been shown to knock away foes on start-up and, in addition, reflect projectiles, similar to Wolf's Reflector in Brawl. They can break after a set amount of hits by the opponents, at which point will have a recharge time before they can be used again.

Description from the 3DS version's foldout

"Shield your front and back. Will reflect projectiles."

Customization

Customization was introduced in Super Smash Bros. 4. Guardian Orbitars have two variations, both of which are alike for Pit and Dark Pit:

  1. Impact Orbitars: Can knockback foes, but loses the ability to reflect projectiles and shield.
  2. Amplifying Orbitars: Boosts the power of reflected projectiles, but the Oribatars are more fragile.

Origin

Orbitars are one of the weapon classes in Uprising. Weapons in this class can fire two shots at once and have high homing, though they're not as effective in melee combat. Guardian Orbitars specialize in defense, and can project shields with charged shots.
