To commemorate the release of Super Smash Bros. 4, and the Super Smash Bros. series as a whole, Nintendo announced an invitational tournament being hosted around the time of E3 2014, at the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Little information is known about it at this time, but the information known so far is[1]:
- The game played will be Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
- 16 "highly skilled" players will be invited to participate.
- The tournament can be spectated inperson, and there will be a live stream of it with commentators.
More information about the invited players, commentators, and how to view the stream, was stated to be "communiacted shortly".
