Taj is an American smasher, internationally famous as the number one Mewtwo player, and creator of the combo video Shadowclaw. He is a prominent figure in the local smash scene. Taj is also a moderator on Smash World Forums, responsible for the Pichu and Mewtwo Character Specific Forums. He is currently ranked 3rd on the Arizona Melee Power Rankings.

ShadowClaw - A Mewtwo Combo Video

Although well-known locally, Taj's biggest impact on the global smash scene was his release of the Mewtwo combo video ShadowClaw.

The video illustrated professional Mewtwo play at a level not previously seen in wide distribution. Despite a few quiet claims to the contrary (and surprisingly little tangible evidence), he is now almost ubiquitously considered the best Mewtwo player in the world. Forward has since created a thread at Smash World Forums called Taj is the best Mewtwo, which has since become a hub for question-and-answer sessions for Mewtwo enthusiasts.

There is a sequel, titled ShadowClaw 2, which has since been completed and released. Shadow Claw 3 was released but was not as well received due to the popularity of the second one. Shadow Claw 4 was released sometime in 2010 and was edited by Mewtwo player V3ctorman.

Trivia

  • Prior to the Champ Combo Tournament in April of 2006, the famous team of Ken & Isai had not been defeated on tournament grounds until Taj & Forward stepped in with the win.
  • Despite his Mewtwo-related fame, Taj believes that it pays to play higher tier characters in critical tournament match-ups.
  • Taj is widely commended for Mewtwo's movement up the Super Smash Bros Melee Tier list.
