The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

There are a few attacks in the Super Smash Bros. series that are explosive-type. They are strengthened by Explosives Attack stickers. The vast majority of explosive attacks set targets on fire, with the only exceptions being Ivysaur's bulb blasts (they are Explosive/Grass instead).
Note that, since the concept of type does not exist in games before Super Smash Bros. Brawl, only Brawl hitboxes are included in this list. For example, while exploding carrier items in SSB64 or Melee could be considered explosive attacks, they are not coded as being so.
List of explosive attacks by characters
- Diddy Kong - Rocketbarrel Barrage (both the exploding peanuts and the explosion at the end of the move)
- Ike - Eruption (either the fire of a partial charge or any part of a full charge)
- Ivysaur - up smash, up air, down air
- Kirby - can copy Chomp
- Kirby can copy Eruption, but doing so does not deal explosive damage as it should.
- Link - Bomb
- R.O.B. - up smash, neutral air, back air, down air
- Samus - down tilt, up smash, forward air
- Sheik - Vanish (explosion)
- Snake - up smash, down smash, forward smash, Grenade, Remote Missile, C4
- Toon Link - Bomb
- Wario - Chomp (upon eating an explosive)
- Zelda - Din's Fire
Other attacks (e.g. Grenade Launcher) cause explosions, but as they do not appear in the Subspace Emissary, they were not coded to deal explosion damage (the data would have taken up no more space). Some other attacks which involve explosions are not explosive-type because they are of another type (e.g. Ganondorf's up tilt is Leg-type).
List of explosive attacks by items
- Blast Box
- Bob-omb
- Capsules - have a random chance of exploding
- Cracker Launcher shots
- Gooey Bomb
- Smart Bomb
Other items (Barrels, Crates, Party Balls, Motion-Sensor Bomb) can explode, but as they do not appear in the Subspace Emissary, they were not coded to deal explosion damage.
Trivia
- Getting hit by Snake's Grenade before it detonates deals explosive damage.
