The Pilotwings universe refers to the Super Smash Bros. universe's collection of characters, stages, or other properties that hail from the games in the Pilotwings series. The Pilotwings series started in 1990, when Pilotwings for the SNES came out in Japan. Pilotwings 64 for the Nintendo 64, was the direct sequel from Pilotwings. The last title in the series is Pilotwings Resort, released in 2011 as a release title for the Nintendo 3DS.

The Instructor sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl is derived from the Pilotwings universe. It raises Arm attack +10.
