An '''ironman''' is a kind of match similar to a [[crew battle]], but it is 1 on 1. It is an idea of g-regulate on [[Smashboards]] based on Overswarm's idea. Both players pick 5 different [[character]]s. Each character starts with 3 stock, for a total of 15 stock. Both players pick their opening character before the battle. They start on a random neutral stage, but they can agree on the opening stage. When a player loses all of his character's stock, he or she picks another character and counterpicks a legal stage. Each player starts the battle with their remaining stock (If player B keeps 1 stock after the battle, he or she must SD in the next match to start with 1 stock.) If a player loses their 15 stock, they lose the match.
