Biography
I'm Kyle Steven Beggs, or KBeggs. You may also know me as RikotheFoxKid, as that's the name I went by when this site was still hosted by Wikia.
I'm an avid fan of Super Smash Bros., and have been since the first game came out. I never knew of its competitive aspects until I discovered SmashWiki, after which point I indulged in it, studying the competitive aspects thoroughly.
I enjoy every game in the series, although my favorite gameplay came from Melee. I'm a fan of fast paced action, and I love all of the speed and advanced techniques that Melee has. However, I love Brawl as well; instead of seeing it as an inferior sequel to Melee, I like to see it as its own separate game with its own different style of play. I like Smash 64, but not as much as Melee and Brawl.
I'm a fan and supporter of Project M. Not only do I love how it takes Brawl and mixes it with Melee-esque gameplay, but I also love the amount of balance the game has; never have I seen a game as balanced as Project M is. I also enjoy hacking Project M; almost all non-default costumes, several songs, and a few stages have been given hacks.
I am also a believer in the tier list. However, I do not think this should discourage anyone from playing the character they enjoy. For example, my favorite character in Brawl is Sonic, who is only in the Middle Tier, and in the past was fifth from the bottom.
Characters
Super Smash Bros.
The only character in the original SSB that I truly consider myself good with is Captain Falcon. Aside from him, I am also decent with Mario and Ness, and play as Link for fun.
I can somewhat play as a majority of the SSB64 cast, although I do not find particular enjoyment in Donkey Kong or Jigglypuff, and I absolutely despise playing as Luigi.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
My best character in Melee is without a doubt Marth, while my second best is Sheik. Aside from them, I also like playing as Captain Falcon and Falco.
I generally avoid playing the lower tier characters (aside from Roy, Mewtwo, and Mr. Game & Watch). I'm also not particularly good with Peach.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Sonic
My favorite and by far best character in Brawl is Sonic. When I first unlocked him, I wanted to see how he was, and quite frankly, I enjoyed his playstyle a lot. I believed that not many people would find much value in Sonic (which later turned out to be true; none of my friends thought good of him), so I made it my personal goal to make him my best character. I seem to have more or less succeeded; everyone in the circle of Brawl players at my university recognizes me as a talented Sonic player, and against Meta Knight, I find it easiest to use Sonic (closely followed by Falco).
Another reason I enjoy Sonic is because how good of a character he is really depends on the player, more than any other character. You can easily pick up someone like Marth or Meta Knight, but if you don't know how to use Sonic, you will not do well. On the other hand, in the hands of a very skilled player, Sonic is pretty frightening. I do believe, however, that there are few matchups where Sonic has a true advantage, and some matchups where he is at a disadvantage; in these situations, I do find it valuable to use someone else such as Marth or Falco.
One distinction I believe my Sonic has from others is that I make little use of the Homing Attack. I feel that aside from certain situations, it's fairly unreliable and slow. I make constant use out of his other specials, though.
Others
Along with Sonic, my other main character is once again Marth. I feel that even though he has had significant changes between Melee and Brawl, he can still be played in a similar style and be successful. I also enjoy using Falco, and while I like using him in Melee and Project M, I really like the distinct playstyle he has in Brawl.
Just recently I've discovered that I am also pretty good with Olimar. I'm currently working on improving my skill with him.
Behind that, I also like Fox, although I wouldn't use him in a serious game (as I could use Falco or Sonic instead).
In the early days of Brawl, when I liked to refuse to believe the tier list, one of my mains was Captain Falcon (as he is in SSB64 and Melee). These days, however, I openly acknowledge that he is a terrible character, and nowhere near what he was in Melee.
In the past, I considered myself a master of diversity, being able to play as any character (except Peach and Jigglypuff). I ended up taking a break from Brawl, however, and as a result, most of this ability vanished.
Project M
Once again, my favorite character in Project M is Sonic. I think he is vastly superior to his Brawl counterpart, due to the sheer amount of extra speed and combos he has. After that, my other favorite characters are Marth, Ike, Falco, Ganondorf, Sheik, and Mr. Game & Watch.
I enjoy playing as Captain Falcon, although I feel that the minor differences between Melee's and Project M's physics make him inferior to what he was in Melee. He's still better than he was in Brawl though. By a longshot.
The two characters I actively avoid are Wario and Zelda. I am just not good as either of them.
Playstyle
I prefer characters with high speed and great air games. I think the air is where a character can have the most utility, and if you can control the air, you're in for a good time. As for speed, if I'm too fast for you to hit me, good luck.
In Melee and Project M, I make extensive use of L-canceling and dashdancing. I mean, why wouldn't you?
I do not wavedash often in Project M; I feel that it is inferior to Melee wavedashing, so I only use it on characters with significant wavedashes (i.e. Marth, Lucas, Mr. Game & Watch). I wavedash constantly in Melee.
Project M Custom Tier List and Ruleset
Since Project M has yet to establish a competitive ruleset or a tier list, I took it upon myself to make my own ones, just in case I ever decide to have a small tournament at my university.
Ruleset
Aside from stage list, I follow the Melee Ruleset.

Tier List
This tier list is not only based on my personal experience, but also from the matches I viewed from MELEE-FC. I haven't watched much Project M after that, so this could seem a little off.
Because of the amount of balance Project M has, the characters within the tiers are tied with each other.
S Tier
(For the characters that have proven to be much better than the rest. They consistently show up and perform well)
- Bowser
- Ike
A Tier
(For the characters that perform very well, and can hold their own in many cases. While just about every character is good, these ones stand out just a little more)
- Falco
- Ganondorf
- Lucario
- Mario
- Sheik
- Sonic
B Tier
(For the characters that are great, but have not proven themselves to be as good as the higher tier characters. If a character in this Tier was great in Melee, there is probably some small difference between Melee and P:M that's holding them back)
- Donkey Kong
- Fox
- Jigglypuff
- Lucas
- Marth
- Peach
- Pikachu
C Tier
(For the characters that are good, but haven't shown anything that makes them stand out as impressive)
- Captain Falcon
- King Dedede
- Link
- Ness
- Pit
- R.O.B.
- Snake
D Tier
(For the characters that are pretty good, but are generally outclassed by the other characters)
- Mr. Game & Watch
- Toon Link
- Wario
- Zelda
E Tier
(For the characters that are completely outclassed by the rest of the characters. Something went wrong when the PMBR was making these guys)
- Charizard
- Luigi
Other Interests
I am a passionate Yu-Gi-Oh! player. I have played the game since Pharaoh's Servant was released, and absolutely love it. My main Deck is Lightsworn, followed by Chaos Dragon and Agent.
I also am a big fan of Pokemon, and enjoy the competitive aspects of it as well.
I'm a brony. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Rainbow Dash is best pony, by the way.
