#Never was able to pull off the black hole glitch. I don't know if its hard or I'm just stupid, but I've heard black hole can screw up your game anyway. So yeah, Master Hand FTW. --[[Special:Contributions/174.59.4.202|174.59.4.202]] 21:58, 23 September 2011 (EDT)

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters, items, stages or anything else from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.
The Rules
- When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
- You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
- Put a
#
before your vote to facilitate the vote counting. - Type
~~~~
after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not. Using the wrong number of "~"s counts as not signing - your signature must have both your signature itself and the time. - There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
- Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
- Any comments about the fight should be left in the comment section. However, you are not to post argumentative, accusative, or any sort of comment with the intention of starting an argument with someone on the opposing side. The Smash Arena is a popularity contest, there's no need to argue with the other side on why your choice is superior, or why they are wrong with their reasoning for picking their choice. You are also not to post comments that are just pointing out/complaining how close/one sided a matchup is. These sorts of comments are worthless, and do nothing but make an already large page larger.
- You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
- Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it).
- If there are multiple fights in a single round, try to make all your votes in a single edit.
If your vote is not added correctly - that is, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have one hour to fix it. After this time, it may be moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion. In addition, if your votes-to-rulebreaks ratio climbs too high, your votes may count for zero until the ratio drops to an acceptable level.
Intentional half-votes undermine the intent of the half-vote system as a way to punish voters for voting incorrectly. It is legal to want a vote to be worth half, but it is very heavily discouraged, and you must state in your vote you want it to be worth half.
Round 105: Master Hand glitch vs. Black hole glitch
Winner!! undecided 0 to 0 |
|||||
Two of Melee's most infamous glitches, one relatively new and fascinating, the other notorious for years and more taxing on the system. Will the bug of infinite recursion or the apparently acceptable lack of input validation come out on top?
CommentsAnon: That's false; there's a method that allows the Black Hole Glitch to occur through the use of two players, as can be seen on the respective page. That's actually the method I initially did until I found my third controller. ReiDemon 21:28, 23 September 2011 (EDT) |
Round 104: Luigi vs. Link
Winner!! Link 18.5 to 19 |
It's a pair of L-coloured green people on near-opposite ends of the jump ability spectrum and bravery scale. Who gets the verdant victory?
Comments@78.145.97.88 Actually, Captain Falcon already did. By one half vote. >:( --174.59.4.202 07:26, 19 September 2011 (EDT) I'm liking the theme for this match, as well as the various parallels being brought to light in the comments, like in that 'doorknob' comment above (i.e., the courageous Link vs. the frightened Luigi). The comments are amusing as well! 131.193.3.93 16:46, 23 September 2011 (EDT) |
