The Parry refers to a bunch of different forms of Yoshi specific techniques that refer to using shields or other forms of defenses generated due to Yoshi's different double jump and shield properties. The techniques vary from game to game.
- Double Jump Cancel Counter: All 3 SSB games
- Light Shield Counter: (Melee only) Yoshi has a specific property that once he perfect shields one move, he can perfect shield another move if it connects right afterward by continuously light shielding. If this is done with a move that has multiple moves, such as Kirby's tap a, the shield eventually turns white from the multiple power shields.
