For the move shared by the Star Fox characters, see Reflector (move).

A reflector is an attack, usually a special move, that hitboxes reflect any projectiles or thrown item they collide with in the Super Smash Bros. games. Generally, when projectiles are reflected, they become stronger and sometimes move faster upon being reflected (depends on the specific reflector). It is possible for a single projectile to be reflected multiple times, such as back and forth between two characters. Since the projectile becomes more powerful with each reflect, it is possible for the reflected projectile to gain One-hit KO potential. In Melee, if a projectile is too strong, such as one that has been reflected multiple times, it will pass through and break a reflector it comes in contact with, similar to a shield break. In Brawl, a projectile that is too powerful to be reflected will simply ignore and pass through a reflector it makes contact with.

Reflectors are generally very useful moves that can be vital, as they help prevent projectile camping and spamming. As such, characters with reliable reflectors tend to have better matchups against characters that rely upon projectiles, such as Samus, then those who lack a reliable reflector.

The "Reflector Device"

In Super Smash Bros., only two moves could reflect projectiles:

In Super Smash Bros. Melee

Mewtwo's Confusion.
Mario's Cape attack from SSBM.

In Melee, a few more reflectors were added.

Roy, countering Marth's attack in Melee

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Nayru's Love in Brawl
Arm Rotor reflecting Luigi's Fireball.

In Brawl, many characters have reflectors. These include the following:
