Balanced Brawl (or BBrawl) is a hack of Brawl designed by Thinkaman and Amazing Ampharos with the goal of balancing characters in competitive Brawl with as few changes to core physics as possible. More information, downloads, and discussion can be found at the Balanced Brawl Standard Release thread.

How is this different from Brawl+?

Unlike Brawl+, none of the core physics have been changed:

  • In game physics are the same.
  • Character movement is the same.
  • Hitbox sizes are the same for all characters.
  • No stages are frozen.

However, timing of a few attacks have been changed, and tripping is removed

The goals of BBrawl are:

  • Remove Infinites and Inescapable Lockdowns
  • Character Balance
  • Increase Stage Viability

Character Changes

When BBrawl was started, the creators decided to balance all the characters based around Diddy Kong, so all characters will fight as well as Diddy Kong. Not many of the characters will have huge changes, but the ones who do are still balanced to everyone else.

Characters who were unchanged (These characters would have became overpowered or underpowered if tweaked even slightly)

  • Donkey Kong
  • Diddy Kong
  • Ice Climbers
  • R.O.B.
  • Kirby
  • Olimar
  • Fox-Fox Illusion given slight buff
  • Lucario
  • Marth
  • Mr. Game & Watch

Characters who were slightly nerfed

  • Meta Knight
  • Snake
  • Wario
