#REDIRECT Reflector

A reflector is an attack, usually a special move, that hitboxes reflect any projectiles or thrown item they collide with in the Super Smash Bros. games. Generally, when projectiles are reflected, they become stronger and sometimes move faster upon being relfected (depends on the specific reflector). It is possible for a single projectile to be reflected multiple times, such as back and forth between two characters. Since the projectile becomes more powerful with each reflect, it is possible for the reflected projectile to gain One-hit KO potential. In Melee, if a projectile is too strong, such as one that has been reflected multiple times, it will pass through and break a reflector it comes in contact with, similar to a shield break. In Brawl, a projectile that is too powerful to be reflected will simply ignore and pass through a reflector it makes contact with.

Reflectors are generally very useful moves that can be vital, as they help prevent projectile camping and spamming. As such, characters with reliable reflectors tend to have better matchups against characters that rely upon projectiles, such as Samus, then those who lack a reliable reflector.

In Super Smash Bros.
In Super Smash Bros., only two moves could reflect projectiles:
*Fox's down special, Reflector
*Ness's side smash

In Super Smash Bros. Melee
In Melee, a few more reflectors were added.
*Fox's down special, Reflector
*Ness's side smash
*Mario's side special, Cape
*Falco's down special, Reflector
*Mewtwo's side special, Confusion (doesn't change owner of the projectile)
*Zelda's neutral special, Nayru's Love
*Dr. Mario's side special, Super Sheet
*Roy and Marth's down special, Counter, against a projectile.
*Perfect Shielding in Melee will reflect projectiles, but projectiles reflected this way have half their power.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
In Brawl, many characters have reflectors. These include the following:
*Fox's down special, Reflector
*Ness's side smash
*Falco's down special, Reflector
*Wolf's down special, Reflector
*Zelda's neutral special, Nayru's Love
*R.O.B.'s side special, Arm Rotor
*Mario's side special, Cape
*Pit's side special, Angel Ring
*Pit's down special, Mirror Shield

*The Franklin Badge
*Gardevoir (Poké Ball)
