Jungle Japes is a stage that is unlocked from the start of Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is also Donkey Kong's home stage, but you face Young Link and his teammates here in All-Star mode.
The stage is divided into three parts. The right and left sections are about equal in length and are a little taller then the middle section. The middle section is the longest, with a smaller platform suspended above it. This stage may sound simple, but it's actually rather dangerous. Getting caught in the current under the stage is bad and hard to get back on the stage. Be careful not to fall off the edges or you will get caught in the current and most likely won't survive. To make matters worse, Klaptraps will jump out at you if you fall in either pit on each side of the middle section. Getting attacked by one will result in a one-hit KO.
Fun Facts
- If you play a Fox CP on this level, after you kill him the first time, move to the Platform on the right and stay there before Fox comes back to life, and watch as he commits suicide over and over and over again by jumping underneath the middle platform and up Bing until either you move or attack him. This means that if you are doing a 99 stock match, he can kil himself up to 98 times in a row.
- If you pit yourself in a 1 stock match against a Lv. 9 Ness, you can win without moving.
- If your battling Giant Donkey Kong in Adventure Mode with any character, go to the edge of the plataform you started in. When Giant DK is near, hold down the B button and Giant DK will fall through the gap
- Giant DK will also suicide if you stand still at the edge of the same plataform if you use Ness, Pikachu, Captain Falcon and Kirby
- If you look carefully through the window, you can see Cranky Kong.
